1. In a landmark decision by the Central government, the Home Ministry has informed Parliament that attempt to suicide will no longer be treated as a criminal offence. The Home Ministry informed Parliament that the government has decided to delete section 309 of the Indian Penal Code which criminalises attempt to suicide. The Centre also said that 18 states and four union territories have supported deleting Sec 309.
आत्महत्या की कोशिश को अब अपराध नहीं माना जाएगा। केंद्र सरकार ने आत्महत्या की कोशिश से जुड़ी धारा 309 को भारतीय दंड संहिता से हटाने का निर्णय लिया है। राज्यसभा में गृह राज्यमंत्री हरिभाई चौधरी एक प्रश्न के लिखित जवाब में बताया कि विधि आयोग ने धारा 309 को हटाने की सिफारिश की थी। उन्होंने बताया कि विधि आयोग की इस सिफारिश के बाद इस विषय (धारा 309) पर राज्य और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों से राय मांगी गई थी।
2. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Warren buffet became second richest person in the World. He replaced Carlos Slim, business magnate of Mexico. Bill Gates is the world richest person at present.
ब्लूमबर्ग बिलियनेयर्स इंडेक्स के अनुसार, वारेन बफेट दुनिया में दूसरे सबसे अमीर व्यक्ति बन गए। उन्होंने मेक्सिको के व्यापारी कार्लोस स्लिम को पछाड़कर यह स्थान हासिल किया। मौजूदा समय में बिल गेट्स दुनिया के सबसे अमीर व्यक्ति हैं।
3. The world’s first handcrafted herbal Holy Quran was unveiled in Dubai. It is made from about 200 medicinal plants. The Quran has been made by the Islamic arts and calligraphy company Heddem Arts and has been crafted over 23 years from 1957 to 1979 by Turkish Unani Doctor Hamdi Taher.
दुनिया के पहले हाथ से बने हर्बल कुरान का दुबई अनावरण किया गया। इस पवित्र कुरान को बनाने में करीब 200 औषधीय पौधों का इस्तेमाल किया गया है। इस्लामिक आर्ट और कैलोग्राफी कंपनी हेद्दम आर्टस द्वारा इसे बनाया गया। तुर्की के यूनानी डॉक्टर हमदी ताहिर ने 1957 से 1979 यानी 23 साल में इसकी शिल्पकारी की।
4. Pakistan is placed eighth in the list of the most dangerous countries in the world which is led by Iraq, according to a US-based intelligence think tank. Afghanistan, the only other South Asian country in the list, is placed fourth in the Country Threat Index (CTI) compiled by IntelCenter, a Washington-based company working for intelligence agencies.
अमेरिका के एक खुफिया थिंकटैंक का मानना है कि पाकिस्तान दुनिया का आठवां सबसे खतरनाक देश है। खतरनाक देशों की इस सूची में पहला स्थान इराक का है। खुफिया एजेंसियों के लिए काम करने वाली वाशिंगटन आधारित कंपनी इंटेलसेंटर द्वारा कल कंट्री थ्रेट इंडेक्स (किसी देश से खतरे का सूचकांक) को अंतिम रूप दिया गया। इस सूची में चौथे स्थान पर रहा अफगानिस्तान दूसरा दक्षिण एशियाई देश है।
5. Indian economy is expected to pick up pace in 2015 and grow in the range of 5 to 6 per cent, helped by strong domestic demand, rating agency Moody’s said. “India will have stronger GDP growth in 2015, which we forecast at 5-6 per cent, up from around 5 per cent in 2014,” Moody’s said in a report titled 2015 Outlook-Global Credit Conditions.
भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था के 2015 में रफ्तार पकड़ने और जोरदार घरेलू मांग की मदद से वृद्धि दर 5 से 6 प्रतिशत के दायरे में रहने की उम्मीद है। यह बात साख निर्धारण एजेंसी मूडीज ने कही। मूडीज 2015 आउटलुक-ग्लोबल क्रेडिट कंडीशंस नामक एक रपट में कहा कि भारत की सकल घरेलू उत्पाद की वृद्धि दर 2015 में मजबूत रहेगी, यह 5 से 6 प्रतिशत रहेगी जो 2014 में दर्ज करीब पांच प्रतिशत की वृद्धि दर से अधिक है।
6. India ranks 11th in Asia and Pacific region and 65th amongst 140 countries in tourism competitiveness, as per the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) 2013 of the World Economic Forum.
भारत, विश्व आर्थिक मंच के 2013 पर्यटन प्रतिस्पर्धा सूचकांक में एशिया एवं प्रशांत क्षेत्र में 11वें स्थान पर है जबकि 140 देशों में वह 65वें स्थान पर है।
7. The State Bank of India (SBI) launched two indices namely the SBI Monthly Composite Index and the SBI Yearly Composite Index. These indices will primarily track manufacturing and services activity to determine contraction and expansion of the Indian economy.
भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई) ने एसबीआई वार्षिक कम्पोजिट सूचकांक और एसबीआई मासिक कम्पोजिट सूचकांक नामक दो सूचकांकों का शुभारंभ किया। यह सूचकांक मुख्य रूप से भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था के संकुचन और विस्तार का निर्धारण करने के लिए विनिर्माण और सेवा गतिविधि ट्रैक करेंगे।
8. The United States senate confirmed, by a voice vote, the nomination of Richard Rahul Verma as the next US ambassador to India. Mr. Verma, 46, is the first Indian-American to be the US ambassador to India and is expected to be sworn in shortly.
अमेरिकी सीनेट ने भारत में अमेरिका के अगले राजदूत के रूप में रिचर्ड राहुल वर्मा के नामांकन पर ध्वनिमत के साथ पुष्टि की मुहर लगा दी। वर्मा (46) भारतीय मूल के ऐसे पहले अमेरिकी हैं, जो भारत में अमेरिका के राजदूत होंगे। उनके द्वारा जल्द ही इस पद की शपथ लिए जाने की संभावना है।
9. Veteran journalist Piratla Venkateswarlu passed away in Narayanaguda following a brief illness. He was 74. Piratla was unwell due to diabetes-related nervous complications.
वयोवृद्ध पत्रकार पिरातला वेंकटेस्वरलु का 74 वर्ष की आयु में नारायनगुड़ा में निधन हो गया। पिरातला मधुमेह की वजह से अस्वस्थ थे।
10. An advanced version of the indigenously developed Pinaka Mark-II rocket was successfully test fired from a defence base in Odisha using a multi-barrel launcher. The tests were conducted from the Proof & Experimental Establishment (PXE) at Chandipur firing range No 2, about 15-km from Balasore.
देश में ही विकसित पिनाक मार्क-2 रॉकेट के एक अत्याधुनिक संस्करण का सफल परीक्षण किया गया। ओड़िशा के एक रक्षा अड्डे से मल्टी-बैरल प्रक्षेपक का इस्तेमाल कर पिनाक मार्क-2 रॉकेट का परीक्षण किया गया। करीब 15 किलोमीटर दूर चांदीपुर फायरिंग रेंज संख्या-दो के प्रूफ एंड एक्सपेरिमेंटल एस्टैबलिशमेंट (पीएक्सई) से परीक्षण संचालित किया गया।
