1st Test, Final Day, Live: Kohli, Vijay look to defy Australia

New Delhi: Faced with the daunting task of batting out the final day of the first Test in Adelaide, India lost two early wickets before Murali Vijay and skipper Virat Kohli bat on.

LIVE SCORE

India were 105 for 2 at lunch, trailing Australia by 258

Dhawan was caught behind the stumps by Brad Haddin off Mitchell Johnson for 9 runs, while Pujara's wicket was scalped by Nathan Lyon.

Australia declared at their overnight 290 for five to set India 364 runs to win.

India face an against-the-odds target with no team scoring more than 315 to win a Test match at the Adelaide Oval since Australia overhauled England at the ground in 1902.

The forecast is for hot and sunny conditions throughout the final day.
