Syllabus And Pattern

FeeNotification has been issued by APPSC for recruitment of government degree college lecturers. There are in total 656 vacancies of Degree College lecturers all over AP for various subjects.
The subject-wise vacancies of government degree college lecturers are English – 71; Telugu – 27; Hindi – 17; Oriya – 1; Arabic – 1; Commerce – 60; Public Administration – 7; Economics – 28; History – 19; Political science – 27; Mathematics – 24; Physics – 43; Chemistry – 21. Botany – 33. Zoology – 23; Statistics – 5; Bio chemistry – 3; Biotechnology – 10; Microbiology – 16; Computer applications – 73; Computer science -133 and Geology -2.
General category candidates who are between the age 18 and 36 are eligible to apply. Five year age relaxation is given to SC/ST/BC candidates and ten year relaxation for physically handicapped candidates. Educational qualification required for appearing to Degree College lecturers exam is passing in post graduation with 55% marks which is 50% for SC/ST/PH candidates and they should have also qualified in SLET which is conducted by UGC-NET/CSIR NET/APPSC. Selection procedure of candidates includes a written test and an interview.
Written exam for government degree college students will consist of two papers. Paper 1 is general studies papers which is common for all the candidates. There will be 150 questions for 150 marks. All the questions will be in objective mode and the duration of the paper is two and half hours. Paper 2 is the subject selected by candidates based on their subject in post graduation. This paper will also contain 150 questions for 300 marks. Time allotted for this paper is also two and half hours. All the questions will be in multiple choice methods.
Applications for degree lecturers exam should be sent online and these applications are available from 29th February – 29th March, 2012. Last date for paying fee is 27th March, 2012. Exam date is 6th May, 2012. For more information candidates can visit the website www. apspsc.gov.in
Degree lecturer exam Paper 1 Syllabus
Paper – 1 General studies: International and international current affairs should be studied as a part of preparation for degree lecturer exam. Few of the important topics in Science and Technology are missiles, their range, space research. In General science candidates have to read vitamins, human anatomy, diseases etc. Freedom movement in Andhra Pradesh, Indian kingdoms, dynasties, social, economic, religious and cultural conditions etc are the topics from which questions can be expected. In Geography countries, lakes, plateaus, mountains, deserts, volcanoes, rivers, Indian mountains, Indian irrigation projects, wild life sanctuaries, mineral sources etc are important. Analogy, analyzation, inference, direction, coding-decoding are the topics for mental ability. In the Indian Polity and Economy, candidates who are appearing for degree college lecturers have to read Indian constitution, basic rights, parliament, amendment of constitution etc. There will also be questions from disaster management, economy etc.
Reference books for Paper-1 of degree college lecturer exam
For preparation of General studies, science and social academic books of 6th to 10th class will be useful.
Quantitative aptitude Telugu translation by R S Agarwal is the book to be referred for mental ability.
Candidates should regularly read the competitive magazine and Telugu and English news papers.
NCERT academic books from class 6th to 10th are useful in the preparation of disaster management questions.
The APPSC government degree lecturers examination will contain two papers one of which is general studies common for all the candidates. Paper 2 is the subject paper. The subject should be selected by the applicant based on the subject they studied in post graduation. The questions in this level will be in the post graduation level. The candidates can choose from commerce, physics, Mathematics, Hindi, History, Political science, Telugu, Botany, Computer Science etc.

Fee: 
(Remittance of Fee) each applicant must pay Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) towards Application Processing Fee and Examination Fee Rs.120/- (Rupees One Hundred and Twenty Only) (if Candidates are not exempted from payment of Fee). Payment of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) towards application processing fee is compulsory for all Applicants. The Candidate has to logon to the WEBSITE (www.apspsc.gov.in) and enter his/her Basic Personal Details like Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, and Community. Immediately on entering the above details the Applicant will get (downloadable)- Challan Form to pay the Fee at AP Online centers /State Bank of India. The Applicant should pay the prescribed Fee in any one of the A.P. Online centers / State Bank of India and obtain Fee paid challan with Journal Number in the first instance. On the next working day after payment of Fee the Applicant should again visit website and enter the Journal Number to get the format of Application. The applicant has to invariably fill all the columns in the Application and should submit ON-Line.
