TV actress Avika Gor, who shot to fame with Chinnari Pellikoothuru and Uyyala Jampala, is a big fan of Pawan Kalyan and her confession on Koncham Touch Lo Unte Chepta came as a big surprise for many people. Talking on the show, she said, "I'm a big fan of Pawan Kalyan and I would play any role opposite him, if I get a chance. I wouldn't mind even playing his mother." And when Pradeep, who's hosting the show, shot back saying 'but you would play Akhil's girlfriend in a film', she couldn't stop blushing. Earlier this year, there were rumours that Avika Gor might team up with Akhil Akkineni in the latter's debut film; however, so far no announcements have been made regarding this.

Salman Khan was confident DDLJ would be a massive hit: Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan , who is celebrating 1000 weeks of his 1995 blockbuster – Diwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge – was recently on the sets of Kapil Sharma’s ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’, where he spoke about his journey since then, his experience of working in the film and several other things that none of his fans were aware of.

Salman Khan was confident DDLJ would be a massive hit: Shah Rukh Khan

It was while answering one of Sharma’s questions that SRK revealed that only Salman Khan was confident about the success of DDLJ. Since Shah Rukh had earlier done negative roles, the actor himself wasn’t sure if the audiences would accept him as a romantic hero. Many felt that Shah Rukh’s decision to DDLJ was wrong and that it wouldn’t do well at the Box Office.

Salman not only said that DDLJ will be a super-hit, but when on to say that it would do a much better performance than ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’.

After this revelation, the sets of CNWK witnessed a huge thunder of applause.

So we can say that the Khans are back to being the thickest of friends.

Three cheers to the Khan camaraderie.

Aadi talks about his wedding with Aruna

Actor Aadi got married to Aruna in the wee hours of Saturday in a quiet ceremony sans any fanfare in Gachibowli. The wedding was a private affair attended by close friends and family members. Aadi's close friend and colleague, Sundeep Kishan was the only Tollywood star present at the wedding.
The festivities at Aadi's house began on Friday morning and the couple showed no sign of fatigue for most part of the proceedings, however, in the end, it got the better of them. Aadi walked in sporting a white silk kurta at the venue at 3.30 am, escorted by his parents. The muhurtam was at 4 am and as the beats of mridangam and nadhaswaram peaked, the smile on Aadi's face got more and more coy, prompting his friends to remark that he is smiling more than the bride.

Three hours after the rituals began, the couple finally tied the knot and both of them were in their elements during the 'talambralu' ceremony, mockingly dodging each other while pouring the symbolic turmeric tinted rice grains. And in the traditional post nuptial ceremony where the bride and the groom vie with each to retrieve a ring dropped in a steel pot, Aadi trumped his bride. "I won 2-1! (laughs)," beamed Aadi.

We managed to have a quick word with the elated groom after the wedding. "I had less than a week to get into the wedding mode since I was promoting my recent film till December 5. It is an extremely happy and proud moment for both the families. There is a positive vibe everywhere," said Aadi, adding, "My father (Sai Kumar) was on his toes all the time wishing everyone, but I could read his mind and tell how elated he was."

"I didn't want both the families to become too conscious since it was meant to be a family affair, so, except for my close friends and Sundeep Kishan, no one else from the industry was there. My sister and brother-in-law too went all out to perform on stage at the sangeet. It's an amazing feeling when you see everyone so happy," added Aadi signing off.

'Happy New Year' review: Rides solely on Shah Rukh Khan

Farah Khan's movies are never about logic, great loophole free storylines or even thought generating grounded cinema. They are the definition of the word 'Bollywood'. Entertaining, cheeky and pompous. At least they are supposed to be.

'Happy New Year' review: Rides solely on Shah Rukh Khan

One of the biggest and most anticipated movies of the year, 'Happy New Year' sees best friends- turned enemies-turned best friends again – SRK and Farah – coming back together after a hiatus of seven long years. It is bound to draw in the masses with a long weekend release, plus the movie has been dubbed in a few regional languages as well to attract the crowd from across the country. It also boasts of a very strong star cast. Shah Rukh Khan paired with Deepika Padukone – the hit making duo; added to them are Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah. It also stars Jackie Shroff as the typical Bollywood villain – complete with a bad accent and hairstyle.

The biggest flaw and the biggest strength of 'Happy New Year' is Shah Rukh Khan. The film is riding too heavily on his shoulders, rather you could say on his signature arms-wide-open pose. So much so, that Farah made all the other leads do it in one of her sequences. Deepika and Shah Rukh's romance is so forced that a beautiful melodious number 'Manwa Lage' has not been able to save it. He ends up insulting her for the best part of the movie, but the reason she likes him is because he speaks in English. Talk about SRK idolatry.

The cast looks bored for the most part, including Khan, who reiterates his own famed dialogues from his older movies with a dead pan expression. He even lacks his usual charm, and Dippy seems to have just rehearsed for a mad mix of 'Om Shanti Om' and 'Chennai Express'.

But ultimately it was expected to be a heist movie and it fails miserably there too and if you are expecting excitement and a decently edited movie, you will be left crestfallen. It fails to be a thrilling heist movie and does not stand too tall as an out and out revenge drama as the baddie doesn't even have enough lines plus the back story is flimsy and despite the leads shedding a few tears, it hardly builds up any sentimental value. The build up for the main part of the movie is way too long, and the buffooning around takes a lot of more screen time than is required. The main plot line too leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Everything about the movie is totally predictable and has not been backed by a single memorable dialogues - since Farah has resorted to rehashing than paying script writers to come up with something original . Even as a team that is out to for the biggest robbery of their time, 'Charlie's Angels', as they call themselves, look like they are incapable of even pickpocketing.

The humour surely gets you for a few minutes here and there, but it lacks the usual cheek that Farah is known for. Abhishek and Boman are a small treat with their banter managing some moments of laughter; but apart from that redeeming qualities of the movie are few.

To top it all there is misplaced nationalism in the movie, which seems to just justify the final sequence of the dance extravaganza, and has no other purpose.

Speaking of dance, the other side of the movie is the World Dance Championship. One would fail to believe that Farah was a choreographer once upon a time after watching how she portrays that international championship would not only be such a farce, but could also be rigged in such a bad way.

The plus sides - SRK's well oiled (non-photoshopped) abs, a little bit of the humour, some great visuals of Dubai and the extravagance of it all. The end credits has the superstar play with AbRam, who is angelic - and the audience sure seemed to love that.

Watch: Shah Rukh Khan flaunts fab physique as Charlie

One sure hopes that Farah had spent a little more time on the movie itself than on the promotions, because even though it is sure that the movie will ride the wave of a Diwali weekend and Shah Rukh's popularity, therefore do good business, this is her flimsiest movie yet. The spectacular entertainment that is expected out of her is all but a fizz. It may be entertaining in parts, but at best it is a one time watch. Watch the movie if you are a Shah Rukh Khan fan – but the movie has nothing more than his fabulous body to offer.

'Happy Ending' review: Intelligent but unoriginal

The movie starts with mocking the clichés of Bollywood romance, with the young urban commitment-phobic guy, highly unlikely to fall in love! And yet 'Happy Ending' is what all romantic comedies turn out to be – feel good!

'Happy Ending' review: Intelligent but unoriginal

Saif Ali Khan plays Yudi Jaitley, a young writer who has struck a writers block after hitting the jackpot with his first book. He is also caught in a string of unsuccessful relationships with the characters of Kareena, Preity and Kalki, which is a nice enough way to bring in the star power.

Enter Aanchal Reddy, a best-selling romantic author who doesn't believe in the idea of perfect romance she herself writes about! The rest of the story is as predictable as romedies go!

Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru were not wrong in choosing Saif as their protagonist. He is urban, cool and suave without overpowering a relatively newer heroine. He also has been the most successful in this genre in the past decade. Be it 'Hum Tum'. 'Salaam Namaste' or 'Cocktail', Saif is very likeable as the flirt (not so) young hero. Ileana too is chic and is quite convincing as the no-nonsense practical girl, who knows what modern romance entails.

Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey were cast in the very same roles that we have seen them in before. As talented as they are, the audience is bound to expect more from them.

But the best part of the movie is Govinda. He does not have a lot of screen space but the 90s superstar has retained his comic timing to the 'T'. The director duo make fun of the hackneyed scripts and stories of Bollywood through his character, and boy he carries it off with elan!

The dialogues that the leads have are witty and the first half of the movie induces a lot of laughter. Unfortunately, the freshness of the film is lost after the first half, as it fast spirals into the very plot that it had set out to run away from. It pretends to be different for a while, and both the leads seem to have emulated the practicality of love. But at the end it feels as if it is just a reprise of 'Love Aaj Kal'.

As Armaan (Govinda) pointed out in one scene, families come to watch cinema to be entertained, a mere Rs 300 can not contain the meaning of life. It is almost as if with these dialogues the filmmakers are defending themselves – which is a disappointment. It gets predictable, but it will keep you smiling through its length.

'Happy Ending' is Saif's comfort zone and he along with the rest of the cast has performed well. The modern take of romance is definitely refreshing and the script has great one-liners for all the characters. The music compliments the feel of the movie. Govinda will make you nostalgic with the dancing in 'Nacho Sare G Phaadke'. The other scene which really stands out is when he consults a doctor to build his pectoral muscles look younger!

It is definitely a good watch, especially if you go with your loved one. It has clean humour, without any glaring sexual innuendos and would be a good film to watch with your family as well!
